These tweets started a very interesting debate on twitter. I would love to hear everyone’s thoughts. Whether you’re pro or against please keep it respectful towards other posters everyone is entitled to their opinion. 

1. If people are surprised, then it is because it seems out of character for what he has led you to believe about him. He is a smart man and does not reveal himself completely. No matter how much we, as a fandom, believe we know about him, we don’t. We know his public persona.

2. So what if he is being presented as Taylor’s boyfriend? She is a bigger star than he is. And innumerable women have been written of as being simply the wife or girlfriend of a man regardless of their own accomplishments. Let’s just chalk this one up as a win against the patriarchy.

3. We just got a new photoshoot. Of Tom. In boxers. Why are people complaining?

4. This is why he hired US PR a year ago. For exactly this kind of media coverage. Nobody should be surprised. Getting a stylist/groomer for spring promo tour, when these photos were taken, should have been your first clue.

5. People love him saying that he’s attracted to strong women, that he’s a feminist, and then think he’s being emasculated because his current gf is more famous? Give me a break – you can’t have it both ways.

6. He’s an adult male in a BUSINESS that is very image focused, who just got a shitload of media coverage. He knows exactly what he’s doing.

7. Also, Tom in boxers. Tom looking sexy af.

OOOOOOkay, still not commenting on the man’s private life, even though the damn article attached to these pics has no problem gossiping, but about it being out of character for the gent? 

He’s a actor in the limelight at the moment. He’s said many times that actresses are expected to show skin and do sex scenes and yes, pose in [and sometimes out of] underwear or sexy garments, and it’s unfair that actors aren’t held to the same. So the fact that he did a shoot like this? Nope, doesn’t surprise me at all. And yes, I do appreciate the view, because, y’know, I’m a Tomslore with a strong libido. Ain’t nothing wrong with dat, hm?

Am I going to reblog pics? Yes.

Am I going to shame Taylor for this or Tom even? No.

Am I still going to be the little Hiddlesslore that I have been since 2014? Yes.

Do I wish them well and hope this lasts a long time and if it does end that it’s amicably with no hard feelings? Yes.

Why? Because it’s their lives, not mine.

Am I happy for Tom? Fuck yes the boy needs some company for christ’s sake.

If I get any hate on my blog or see it from others will they be unfollowed? Absofuckinglutely.

This blog is just what it says: A fan blog for Thomas William Hiddleston. I don’t give 3 shits who he’s dating/fucking/marrying/baring children with as long as HE IS HAPPY.

Again, why? Because I am 35 years old, married and beyond this jealousy shit when someone I am a fan of has someone.

Pretty much sums up my feelings on the subject, although I try to avoid putting up paparazzi pics [just my thing, *shrug*] and I’m older than 35. 

On a side note, I’ve been really pleased to see how welcoming Hiddlestoners have been to the Swifties. Nice to see some fun and sweetness being shared between fandoms!
