These bad ass derby photos are shattering stereotypes about female athletes
A healthy body is a strong body. That’s the message behind Cory Layman’s “Body by Derby”
project, an inspiring collection of images of roller derby players. The
project is proving that women of all shapes and sizes can be strong and
powerful — no matter their body fat percentage.
Throughout the course of history, the standard of female beauty has significantly shifted, shaping the ways in which women look and are perceived. Buzzfeedvideo has compiled a short feature with a diverse cast of models, who take the viewer on a journey through the last 3,000 years of beauty. From the curvaceous bodies of the renaissance period in Italy, to the boyish, 1920s figures in the United States, the dramatic evolution proves societies’ standards are constantly unfolding.
Take a look at this video to follow history’s course through trends following everything from full-figures to tiny feet.

This is SO important for people to realize…so often i have had people ask me why they are the same weight as myself or someone else, but they wear a different size, or complain that they look so very different. Body composition people, and skeletal structure. We are each unique. Don’t ever compare yourself to someone else in a negative way.
