Summary of Tom Hiddleston’s Weibo Chat with Fans in Beijin

…So my sister was on weibo and I was on Twitter posting Tom’s chat with the Chinese Fans to hiddlememes and @unicon516.

Here’s a summary of what we learned about Tom from the chat. Thanks, Marvel CN, you were tremendous. 

When asked if he wants to work with Benedict Cumberbatch again in the future, he answered he would love to if a good script comes along. And that BC is a very good friend of him, and he’ll pass the regards to BC too.

Tom loves cooking and he makes a killer Shepard’s pie

Tom loves all of Pixar’s movies and he went to see Toy Story 3 with his mum. He cried like a baby in the cinema.

His favourite movies this year are Pacific Rim and The Grande Bellezza (The Great Beauty) and that he thinks he and Chris Hemsworth are just like the pilots in the film and they can drift too.

His favourite album now is Trouble Will Find Me by The National (x). The song he sings in the shower is I Need My Girl by The National.

He loves playing piano the most though mostly he plays guitar in movies. When he’s not working, he’d play movie scores on the piano and ping-pong. (Who does he play with? LOL)

Favourite soundtrack is The Last of the Mohicans

When asked if he wants to be a director, he said very much so. And soon this will come true (OMG!!!)

He had Peking duck last night. He didn’t know how to use chopsticks when he was little but now he has mastered them, even more skillfully than using knives and forks.

If he had the mjolnir, he’d make it his private jet. (LOL)

When asked if he likes Sherlock Holmes, he said he loves BBC Sherlock. He thinks Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are both great in it, and he can’t wait to do Coriolanus with Mark Gatiss.

When asked which Shakespearean plays he’d recommend, he replied, Hamlet, Henry V and Much Ado About Nothing. (Ben, Tom and Joss Whedon)

His favourite place in the UK is Cornwall. 

If he could play a movie with Chris Hemsworth outside of Marvel, he’d want to do The Heat with him. Both playing cops and in uniforms. (This was asked the respectful torrilla)

He would definitely want to learn Chinese and he thinks the Chinese nickname for him sounds like an ancient warrior’s name. (Dou Sen is the Chinese nickname for Tom Hiddleston, which is the Chinese pronunciation for “ddles”… LOL)

He wants to adopt a dog (and he barked).

His favourite book is Any Human Heart by William Boyd.

A fan asked if he’d want to work with James Mcavoy, he replied he’s a brilliant actor. 

Favourite animal is dog and giraffe and favourite flower is Bougainvillea (x)

When asked how he deals with pressure, he responded by saying he would lash out on his publicist (jokingly). The correct response was jogging though. (LOL)

He hates rhubarb. Was bad at Physics in school.

Favourite season is autumn.

Favourite colour is Mediterranean blue (or might be cerulean blue, this I’m not so sure).

Fondest childhood memory is when he and his family went to Portugal for the summer and he played sand with his sister. (OMG, THIS IS TOO CUTE)

Skin care products he uses everyday is Dermalogica Active Moist (x). It keeps his skin hydrated even with make-up on.

The actors/actresses that he loved working with, Chris Hemsworth, Kenneth Branagh and Rachel Weisz.

Favourite actresses: Judy Dench, Maggie Smith, Elizabeth Taylor and Rita Hayworth.

If he were to pick a song for Loki, it’d be “Get Loki”

I was watching Rush with my friend when all this happened, so I had so many typos because I was trying to do as much as I could before the movie started (great movie, btw). Feel free to correct me since I had to read Simplified Chinese and translate it back to English again.
